Subsets of the I.M.A.G.E. Consortium resources
The I.M.A.G.E. resources
are comprised of a large number of arrays of cDNA libraries
from RNA made on different species and tissues. Six subsets
of clones from these arrays have been picked and are available.
The Mammalian Gene
Collections (two human, two mouse and two rat).
This is described here.
The Xenopus Gene Collections (two X. laevis, and one X. tropicalis).
This is decribed here.
The Zebrafish Gene Collection.
This is decribed here.
The Mouse Lymphochip
subset
I.M.A.G.E. Consortium calls this subset IRAP. The clones were
selected on the basis of an association with lymphoid tissue.
The subset contains 12,480 different clones representing 12,480
genes. The clones have not been fully sequenced.
The inserts are harboured
in ampicillin-resistant vectors. There are 130 (96-well) plates.
On any one plate, just one vector has been employed. This
resource is distributed as a single set.
The identity of the clones is given here.
The Human Lymphochip
subset
The I.M.A.G.E. Consortium calls this subset IRAY, IRBA, IRAZ
and IRBB. The clones were selected on the basis of an association
with lymphoid tissue. The subset contains 2,517 different
clones. The clones have not been fully sequenced.
The subset contains one representative of 313 genes. The subset
contains two representative clones for 1,102 genes.
The inserts are harboured
in ampicillin-resistant vectors for the plates in the IRAY
and IRBA sets. The inserts are harboured in chloramphenicol-resistant
vectors for the plates in the IRAZ and IRBB sets. There are
35 (96 well) plates. On any one plate, just one vector has
been employed. This resource is distributed as a single set.
IRAY - 96-well plates numbered 1 - 17 (1280
clones)
IRBA - 96-well plates numbered 1 - 12 (967 clones)
IRAZ - 96-well plates numbered 1 - 3 (135 clones)
IRBB - 96-well plates numbered 1 - 3 (135 clones)
The identity of the clones is given here.
The Human glioma-related
subset
The I.M.A.G.E. Consortium calls this subset IRAX. The clones
were selected on the basis of an association with gliomas.
These are a diverse group of brain tumors that arise from
the normal glial cells of the brain. The subset contains 5,664
clones usually representing different genes. The clones have
not been fully sequenced.
The inserts are harboured in ampicillin-resistant
vectors. There are 59 (96 well) plates. On any one plate (except
plate 1), just one vector has been employed. Plate 1 contains
three different vectors. This resource is distributed as a
single set.
The identity of the clones is given here.
Mouse pancreas genes:
The I.M.A.G.E. Consortium calls this subset IRBD and IRBE.
This set of 7000 mouse genes (IRBD (amp-resistant) and IRBE
(kanamycin-resistant) has been rearrayed by the K. Kaestner
laboratory (University of Pennsylvania) in 96-well format.
Each plate contains clones from one vector only. There are
4 partially-full plates.A flatfile containing all the data
(IRBD_IRBE.preSV.data) can be found on the anonymous ftp site
at ftp://image.llnl.gov/image/rearrayed_plates/IRBD_IRBE.preSV.data.This
resource is available as a single set. Individual clones can
be ordered on our standard IMAGE order form.
